Marked trails

Excursionists and hikers can enjoy Hossa’s network of trails, which covers about 100 kilometres. The even terrain and easily accessible rest spots make the location an ideal day-trip destination for families with children. The national park also provides several trails suitable for people with reduced mobility. Experienced hikers can continue their journey from Hossa along the eastern border, towards Martinselkonen and the trail running along the eastern border.

Lean-to shelters and campfire sites

Hossa’s rest spots are equipped according to the guaranteed national park quality. Campfire sites have been built by sceneries of which each one is lovelier than the other. The Visitor Centre’s staff will be happy to help you in choosing a suitable trail and rest spots. The lean-to shelter at Muikkupuro, for instance, is one of the most popular excursion destinations, and a trail there, suitable for those with reduced mobility, is also under preparation.

Tip

Declare the “Who can spot the most reindeer?” competition open at the beginning of an excursion. The light-hearted competition will inspire both children and adults.
